Submission vs. Rebellion

I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; This is one of the fundamental statements of my religion: that God is not an authoritarian king who does whatever He wants and I bow down, the subservient, and worship Him in the midst of betrayal. This would seem odd and perhaps blasphemous to many, as if I were equal to God, when through the operation of this external force called law, my actions control His actions. He is still greater than me because He makes the laws, but He offers me an environment where we are more equals than superior and inferior. This is the celestial pattern: this is the process by which I become more like Him, by which I step up and He steps down (willingly, according to His own word) and He is my God and I am His: we belong to one another. The road to this more perfect union, this more even ground where the teacher is not better than the learner, is obedience to the Law as the Lord has said it. Submission. No matter how difficult to understand: who am I to defy God? And the road to ongoing
but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise. discrepancy between us and our Father (discrepancy and distance that God would prefer to close) is disobedience.
